Eat

Conversation on the dinner table:
Miss Haana looking over at a book with a picture of three billy goats on it:
"What do the billy goats eat?"
Papa- "they eat grass and leaves from small bushes".
Haana: "You mean like skunk?"
Papa: "No. Skunks eat nuts like acorn and small bugs"
Haana: "Frogs eat that too"
Papa: "Yes! Frogs eat small bugs like flies too"
Haana (matter if factly): "Softy Mausi too!"
(Uncontrolled laughter).
Mental note to self- have to share this with Softy mausi( my sister).

Junk Food

I don't usually binge on junk food but still it has a special place in my heart (and tummy). On evenings when I'm very hungry and not ready for dinner, I like some junk food to accompany my tea and be my soul food (yes, very arguably).

A few days back when I came home with the little girl and opened a bag of golden goodness of Cheetos, she screamed "No! No!".
I was alarmed, what happened?
"That's junk food Mumma, you can't have junk food. It's not good".
I was simultaneously surprised, impressed and sad.. Impressed that she learnt the healthy foods and junk foods at school and she's implementing it elsewhere.

And yet sad that there wouldn't be at Cheetos with me tonight.

Magnifying Glass

"I want a magnet-find-glass"
"You mean a magnifying glass"
"No, no. A magnet-find-glass"
"Gugu I think you mean magnifying glass"
"No. It's magnettt-fiiiind-glass" (more stress on the magneT and fInd now)
"I want a magnet-find-glass"
"Ah, and I want a Gugu-loosing-glass"
Peals of giggles follow.
