Unicorn

Today while getting Bobby boy ready for bed, Papa said, "You can wear the dinosaur tshirt but it will be hidden under your unicorn for school". Wait, unicorn? All 3 of us exclaimed at the same time. Papa corrected to "No, no, i meant uniform, not unicorn". I jumped in, with a bit too much enthusiasm i fear.. "No, don't teach Bobby wrong things, in the morning he will wear his school unicorn, not uniform!". But Bobby caught on. Maybe i should've dialed the enthusiasm down.. but the next 20 minutes or so, there was rigorous debate on whether it was a school unicorn or a uniform, and sadly the boy was not convinced.

It reminds me of all the time i used to teach him - a cow says quack quack and a duck says moo.. he grew out of that one too.. need to find more things to teach him right!

Snow Day

We got this season's cold front blast us this week with temperatures in the teens and wind chill in the 0f. My stance has been if it is going to be that cold, it might as well snow.. some change in scenery is a nice exchange package. And I was not disappointed. Even though the forecast on the previous days seemed to rule out chahe of snow, snow it was, nevertheless!

Waking up on the Monday of Martin luther day, I rushed to look out of the window.. and it was WHITE! Beautiful, cold snow. But i was content to just look outside from the window and had no intent to partake in the frigidness. There was the thought that doggo might feel otherwise, but on this occasion I thought we can just let him out in the backyard but himself. Usually I don't like him going to the bathroom in the backyard, and typically the doggo doesn't like to play by himself in there anyway. But this was not a usual day.

So while I had some delicious first tea of the morning, Dulce doggo was let outside in the backyard on white fluffy cold snow he was meeting for the first time, while we all watched him from the window. The 4 legs were having a blast! He ran, he chased, he tried rolling in the snow. The powdery goodness was on his back, on his nose. He was running full speed from one end to the other, in circles, then chasing some birds probably laughing at him in the trees! He was delighted. Seeing him from this side of the window, little miss Haana could not take it anymore. She decided, I'm going out. As she was gearing up, I conceded, I'm gonna go out as well. It took us a good 15 minutes to suit up,  and we headed outside. It was only a half inch snow, so we scraped it up from the sidewalk up to slam it on to each other. Soon though we joined forces against a common foe.. Dulce doggo! So we called on him, and when he ran to us, all playful and unsuspecting, we blasted his face with snow! He ran away swift as a fiddle only to dodge and swirl back around. Soon we had company too. Bobby boy couldn't stay watching us from the window for long. And soon Haana and Bobby exchanged snow flurries before joining forces against the doggo again! All of us had a blast! And soon we headed back to warmth inside, happy but cold!
