Oh! Peepee

Some babies like to play. Some babies like to talk. But some other babies like to just run away!

This evening, I had just gotten Bobby boy out of his bath and wiped him dry. I wanted to pin him down, creme him up and put him in his diaper. But things rarely go as per my plan. Instead, as soon as I got done drying his baby body, Bobby boy scuttled away towards the closet. Once there, he hid behind my tall dresses, in the far corner of the closet. I figured I will grab hold of him in a minute. But before that happened, the little naked boy, crouched down and yelped "Oh!" with equal parts surprise and delight. Like one feels about a package that gets delivered earlier than expected; or you find your favorite movie or TV show suddenly available for streaming. An unexpected delicious surprise. Bobby boy exclaimed "Oh!". Then continued with "Oh! Peepee!". I turned to look, he was crouching down and pointing to a pool that had just appeared on closet floor.

I grabbed him before things got worse, and put him into a diaper. I got a little mad at not having trapped his baby butt in a diaper before the accident. But once I cleaned up, I thought the "Oh!! Peepee!" reaction was hilarious!! He thought so too!

Tree, Hose and Bubbles

Last weekend I stepped outside in the front yard for a bit, and realized quite surprisingly that it was actually not bad outside. I went in and got my fancy folding chair (it reclines too!) and positioned it under the tree shade. Bobby boy had just fallen asleep. 'I guess I am going to have a few minutes of peaceful time', was my thought. Except, before i could get to the chair, someone else did.

Little miss Haana placed herself in my chair under the tree. Not willing to admit defeat, i squeezed myself on to the chair right next to her as well. We sat there looking at cotton puff clouds in the blue sky, my favourite thing to do! After playing the have-you-never game for sometime, slightly drowsy, i said to little miss Haana, "It's getting kind of warm now. Let's go play with the hose". Resounding agreement. We tried to plot a prank in which we will ask dad to come out to the garage, and in stead, spray him with the water hose. But alas, he was too clever for us. He got a wind something was fishy and he took off faster than we could corner him. By the time i got to the garage, little miss Haana was already dripping wet! I got in the soaking fun soon enough.

By now little Bobby boy was awake and had just fed. There he was sitting in his stroller, watching us playing with the hose in the alley. I decided he couldn't be having too much fun just sitting there watching us. "We must take this party to the bath tub where Bobby can join in".

And soon, little Bobby boy, little miss Haana and I were amidst cotton puff bubbles in the bath tub. Bobby boy, with his new found grasp was trying to use both his hands and 1 leg to get a hold of the yellow ducky as she bobbed around. When he missed and splashed the water instead, it would send the yellow ducky farther away bobbing in the water. Little miss Haana helped out by sending the yellow ducky back his way. After a few attempts, he finally got a hold of the ducky, and of course it went straight into his mouth!

No pee pee fountains this time!

Civic Duty

Gone are the days when Mumma used to give little Suhaana her bath. These days, the independence streak has taken over. Not only do little girls around here take a bath all by themselves and enjoy themselves. They even ensure tumblers full of water are rolled down on Mommy to give her a (much needed?!) bath as well.Consider it civic duty!

The big splash in town

Splash! Splitter! Splash. Splash..
That's the sound of my little doll in her bath tub. And bath times have never been that much fun before she figured out that kicking in the air is fun.. But kicking in water is what makes for the big splash!

Week of firsts

Last week was a week of firsts. Suhaana went to a lake for the first time. She saw a dog for the first time (she'd had plenty opportunities earlier but she preferred sleeping on the stroller than make four legged friends).

She went to the mall for the very first time.

But more momentous moments came at home. Yesterday she did away with her the bath tub sling.

Her bath tub used to have a sling for newborns much like a hammock while taking a bath. Sitting in the bath tub requires head control (therefore neck muscles), and strong back muscles so as to not fall sideways.

Couple of weeks earlier, Suhaana was still falling off sideways, and the sling was re-employed. But as of yesterday, she's graduated from the sling and enter - bath tub.

No photos please.
