Sick Bumbles

Sweet Bobby boy is sick. Let me draw the timeline.
Late December, he got this bad cough and cold. Lot of sinus stuff everything. Then,  he got better. However I got something from him, and took to coughing last week of December and start of January. Meanwhile he got better for a week. Then, he got sings stuff again. This time with fever. Urgent care visit confirmed flu. 2-3 days he seems to be getting better. Fever is gone. But then coughing is back. Another 2 days later fever is back. Back to pediatrician. This time secondary pneumonia. :-(
Poor baby by m my bumbles!

Sick Baby

My little baby miss Haana had been sick this week. It started suddenly on Wednesday night between 1 and 4am. The were at least 7-8 separate incidents of throwing up. As I was taking care of her in the night worrying about her, poor baby kept on telling me- I love you mumma!

Mom and Dad took turns staying at home to look after sick little Haana. On day 2, she was feeling much better though.

Here is our exchange as I heading out to work:
Mumma (M)- gugu,  what are you going to do today at home?
Haana (H)- I'm going to do a lot of things today!
M- Like what?
H- I'm going to read books, see some pictures, play some board games, do some coloring, do art n craft.
M- (cutting through the chase) Sounds like you're going to watch a lot of videos to me.
H- (jumped up in indignation) Nooo!!

Mumma Are You Mad At Me?

It's no fun when kids fall sick. It's even less fun when that makes them throw up a whole lot.

Such is the case with little Miss Haana over the last 3 days. Poor little baby has gotten a stomach bug and hasn't been able to keep anything down.

It all started on Saturday evening. We decided to check out an art show of local artists in the neighborhood. The weather was perfect. I was looking forward to it with much anticipation. This art festival had some of the very good artists from the area, some coming in from neighboring states with beautiful art pieces. Soon after reaching there, little girl complained she wasn't feeling so good. Initially I thought maybe it's breathing trouble- asthma. She was very uncomfortable, so we headed back to the car. On the way back home, the poor little thing threw up copious amounts. I was driving at eyebrow raising speeds to get us back to relative comfort.

At home, I got the little baby changed and washed up while Dad washed up the car seat. I thought the worst was behind us. I got some fresh white rice and yogurt for her to eat before she dozes off for the night. We cuddled for our weekend ritual of Magic School Bus while I tried to have some solid food into the little baby.

And then it happened again. She threw up again. I was frustrated to say the least. More washing, laundry, bathing, vacuuming, bed-making... I was not happy, but I didn't vocally say anything. I gave the little girl a quick bath again, and was washing the clothes in the bath tub. The little girl was watching me.

Then, after what must have been a long labored silence, she meekly asked me- Mumma, are you mad at me?

I instantly melted! What? Does she think
I'm mad at her? Why would I be mad at her? I said -'No bachha! Why would I be mad at you?!!' I felt bad for being frustrated, making her feel sorry. More hugs to follow. I feel so sorry and loving everytime I think back to her question. Love can be so very tender and sweet...

Evils of Procrastination

Life's lesson# 89 (would've been an earlier lesson if I had remembered to take note of it earlier!): Evils of Procrastination.

I haven't written about the little girl in awhile ( I have excuses - genuine ones - we were travelling and took turns falling sick while  travelling) and as I turned to write, I saw this entry I was meaning to write some time back, but didn't. Probably hoping to finish later. Only problem is- I don't remember what it was I was just about to say:

"Little Haana has been sick lately. Virus with cough and cold. But even then..."

Maybe I should take to suspense or sequel writing. But mostly refer to life's lesson# 89. And I hope I remember what the Girl was up to!
