It's a Spoon

It was with great parental pride that Dad was showing little Miss Haana how a flat sheet of paper can be turned into a boat.

At each fold she was asked what shape is this? 

"Square!"

"And what is it now?"

"Triangle"

"And what about now?"

"Square"

So it was hilarious in the end, when this boat finally came into existence and Dad asked the little girl, "And what is that?", expecting to an answer brimming with wondrous excitement. 

"It's a spoon!"

I didn't check to see if somehow the little boat may actually look like a spoon to the little sparkly pair of eyes! I was too busy laughing!!

Picture This

Act 1:
It's a nice, mild sunny early evening. Suhaana and Papa are in the playground. Suhaana is looking for adventures. She loves the outdoors.

Then out there at a distance she sees a used, dirty paper. It calls on the little girl.

She moves towards it. Time for exploration begins.

Act 2:
Suhaana now next to the dirty, greasy paper. Inching towards it now. It's calling to her. She's split seconds away from grabbing at it.

Papa (in as authoritarian tone as can muster): "No! No, baby. No. No playing with paper!"

Suhaana (it's decision time- to move towards the paper or not. To be good or more fun!) (Hesitates.)

Papa (Time to reaffirm) "No, Suhaana".

Suhaana (Ok, maybe don't need paper) (moving on now)
Suhaana (to paper) Bye-bye!

Papa (having trouble keeping a straight face)!!!!

Just a Regular Afternoon

Where: Starbucks

What: Hot Tea Earl Grey

How: Cool afternoon time for mom n dad, play time for Suhaana.

Activities: Climb tables, bang phones, bang mamma's jewelry on table. Then climb on to stroller. Grab stroller belts. Then back onto the table. Then repeat.

Snacks: Tea for mom n dad. Eat whatever can grab. Snatch a couple of brown sugar packs. Chew on it till it starts tasting more sweet and less papery.

Hindrances: Mainly mom.
